Mendocino Zinfandel

Blending wine is one of the more difficult jobs a winemaker has, but it is also one of the most rewarding.  Rather than being just a caretaker of wines, the winemaker becomes a “creator” of wines. 

For the 2007 vintage we took three of our favorite vineyards and created this beautifully balanced wine.  Valenti Ranch, located in the Mendocino Ridge Appellation, provides the core of black pepper, cedar and spice.  The Vassar Vineyard in Redwood Valley, gives it dusty tannins and cranberry while the Ricetti Vineyard, also in Redwood Valley, provides black currant and cloves.  This is a complex wine that that begs for a good steak!
