2007 Petite Sirah
We are always excited when, after putting our Zinfandel blends together, we have enough Petite Sirah leftover to do a separate bottling. In 2007 we purchased Petite Sirah from two sources—Vassar Vineyard and Nate’s Vineyard, both in Redwood Valley. The old vines from Vassar contribute softer tannins and a core of blackberry and black fruit flavors. The Nate’s Vineyard balances the wine with brighter acids and tannin structure along with red fruit flavors. The resulting blend is complex, crisp and full bodied. The wine is approachable and food friendly now and promises many years of enjoyment.
